This historic two story, 2,000+ square foot home, was built in 1908 during the earliest development of the Magic Valley.
Jacob B. Van Wagener of Pittsburgh, PA was treasurer of the Twin Falls Northside Land and Water Company. He purchased 160 acres of "Carey Act" property and developed Mountain View Ranch as a show pace to demonstrate what a farm in the newly irrigated valley could become. Van Wagener's agricultural efforts included 60 acres of apple orchards and imported Registered Guernsey cows from Wisconsin.
The home is located half way between Twin Fall and Jerome, Idaho on Highway 93 just two miles north of exit 173. This home shares five acres and a spacious yard with the Mountain View Barn Event Center. The home amenities include a washer and dryer, WiFi, emergency stair case off the second floor, central air conditioning, three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen.
The Van Wagener house is located in a peaceful and relaxing country setting surrounded by trees and spacious lawns. The Jerome Farmer's Market is held every Saturday morning June through mid-October on the Mountain View Barn grounds. You are likely to enjoy a nostalgic step back in time during your visit.
